We bring Icelandic craftsmanship under the brand B Kind Handverk together with modern slow living, with a special focus on knitting, crochet, and other forms of handcraft that invite you to slow down, reflect, and relax. 

Behind MB Kind Handverk ehf. are the couple Aðalheiður Ásdís and Mimoun Boutaayacht. Together, they run Handavinnubarinn and MB Verktakar under the same umbrella, working with craftsmanship both for handcraft and for landscaping and garden work. Handcraft has played a major role in Aðalheiður’s life since childhood—whether through knitting, crochet, crafts, or ceramics. This passion has grown significantly over the years, especially in recent times. Aðalheiður’s long-held dream has been to create through handcraft and allow others to enjoy it as well. This dream led to the growth and realization of both Handavinnubarinn and the brand B Kind Handverk after she completed her BSc degree in Psychology at the University of Akureyri in the spring of 2025. In recent years, Aðalheiður has shared glimpses of her everyday life on Instagram under the account Lifðu Nærðu Njóttu, while also managing the social media for MB Verktakar. Mimoun, Aðalheiður’s husband, has worked in paving and other groundworks in recent years, and today these businesses operate together under the company name MB Kind Handverk ehf. 

B Kind Handverk is a brand that carries a dual meaning. B stands on one hand for the family name Boutaayacht, which originates from northern Morocco, and on the other hand for Björgvin Arnar, whom Aðalheiður cared for during his illness from the age of one until he passed away at just six years old in 2013. Kind refers both to the Icelandic sheep, which forms the foundation of many Icelandic craft traditions, and to the English words “kind” and “mankind”, reminding us that gentleness, respect, and kindness create the most beautiful connections. 

Our online store will feature carefully crafted items from our own workshop, a wide range of knitting, crochet, and craft products, as well as yarn and other handcraft supplies. The goal is to create a community for handcraft makers and everyone who loves creating with their hands. 

The company’s vision reaches far beyond the online store. The dream is to allow Handavinnubarinn to grow over time into a larger and more exciting project, which will be shared with customers in the near future. 

Behind the creation of the website is Regína Ragnarsdóttir, a programmer and Aðalheiður’s childhood friend, who has played a huge role in turning this idea into reality.
